Privacy Policy

Token Counter is a browser extension that shows your Claude usage limits. This policy describes exactly what it does with data — which is very little.

What the extension collects

Nothing. The extension does not collect, store on any server, sell or share any personal data, browsing history, conversation content or usage statistics. It has no accounts, no tracking and no third-party analytics inside the extension.

What stays in your browser

The extension keeps a small amount of data in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local): your settings (plan, whether the bar is shown) and a short local log used only as a fallback estimate. This data never leaves your device and is deleted automatically when you remove the extension.

Network requests

The extension talks to exactly one site: claude.ai. It reads the same usage endpoint that Claude's own settings page uses, authenticated by your existing claude.ai session, to display your official session and weekly limit percentages. No request is ever sent to any other server, and nothing about you is transmitted to the extension's developer.

Pages the extension opens

• After installation it opens a one-time welcome page, and after removal your browser opens a feedback page — both are ordinary web pages hosted on GitHub Pages. They may use standard, anonymous web analytics.
• Feedback you choose to submit on the removal page (a reason and an optional comment) is sent to the developer via Google Forms. Submitting it is entirely optional and it contains only what you type — no identifiers are attached by the page.

Permissions, explained

• storage — to remember your settings locally.
• Access to claude.ai — to read your usage limits and show the bar under the chat. The extension runs only on claude.ai and nowhere else.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date above.
